Aurora
Aurora Aksnes was born the 15th of June, 1996 in Stavanger Norway. Popularly referred to as Aurora and occasionally stylized using lowercase letters, such as AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, released in May 2015 by Decca Records to great approval of bloggers in the music industry and media. The artist has already recorded two highly-regarded covers Half the World Away by the band Oasis to promote a Christmas ad from John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. The singer gained further attention through a tweet from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed her song Runaway. Celebrate her birthday. Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory is that of locating an attic piano and becoming fascinated with the sounds it could produce. The parents of her May-Britt family and Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to pursue music not as professional or as a pastime, but as a way to develop. To do this she began to write music that was her own. She credits renowned composers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan for inspiration, as well as a love for Bjork's style. The singer decided to perform her songs publicly when her mother said they might help others not be famous with the work she does, but to help those around them see the importance of their work and how they have an impact on the world. Her first piano lesson was when she was just six and started writing songs when she was nine. Her family didn't know about this until she was 14. Aurora wasn't a childhood dream. Aurora claims she loves making music. Music is for her the most effective way to convey anything.
